I don’t know about you, but the years seem to be moving faster and faster! 2017 is already upon us and our franchisees are already back at work, cleaning gutters for their customers.
It looks to be another busy year and our northern Queensland franchisees are certainly going to be busy with the predicted monsoonal rains approaching in the coming weeks. Weather could get a bit hairy up there for sure.
I’m actually in America at the moment. We just welcomed our 4th grandchild. Our second granddaughter and the first child for our daughter. Always amazing seeing the next generation arrive.
It made me realise just how far we have come with Gutter-Vac. In our 20th year this year, it has been like raising another child. There were times – in the early days – when I’d wonder if this business would ever learn to walk. We had the difficult early teenage years with growth spurts a plenty. Now we are hitting adulthood, it seems that we have worked out the best way to provide the very best customer service, how to help our franchisees run successful businesses and we are really ready to mature at the next level.
Just like seeing your children grow up and enter adulthood, I’m really proud of the business, the franchisees, the head office team and what we have all been able to achieve together.
Many would think that now the ‘kid’ (aka business) is entering adulthood that my job is done and I can sit back and watch, it simply isn’t the case. I still have a long list of things that I want Gutter-Vac to achieve and 2017 is going to be a fantastic year – I just know it.
So whilst I am reflecting on where we have come and where we are going, I just wanted to wish you and your family a very happy new year and I hope that this year is your best year yet!
