The corrosive sludge and moisture eat away at the gutter. We can clean the gutter but if it has deteriorated to a point of no return, sometimes the gutter will crumble from our touch. Also, the amount of debris in the gutter could be clogging the holes and once cleaned, there are leaks everywhere. Either way, the client is better off having a gutter clean and then getting the repairs done.
The upshot of continually leaving the gutters with a huge amount of debris decreases the longevity of the gutter and could mean water ingress or overflows in torrential rain events.
