From coal mines to clean gutters
Like many Australians, Anthony and Jodie were looking for a way to take control of their working life and move away from demanding coal mine jobs. After plenty of online research, Anthony came across Gutter‑Vac.
They then booked a discovery day, liked what they saw, and quickly realised the business model suited both their goals and their lifestyle.
Being able to work their own hours was a major factor, especially with a busy family life and a strong interest in horses and horse events. The flexibility has also made it easier to attend activities and weekend events, something that was far harder in their previous roles.

Every gutter cleaner has a job they won’t forget, and for Anthony and Jodie, one job in Trangie stands out.
The property had large box gutters fully packed with wet mud, wet leaves and more seed pods than anyone could count. It was one of those jobs where clearing the gutters felt like it might never end.
To make things more memorable, Jodie is not a fan of heights. There was no helping on the roof that day (plenty of pointing and directing from below, but the rooftop action was firmly handled solo).
