School Leaver Joins Gutter-Vac

44 year old Torquay resident Paul Bowker has been well aware of Gutter-Vac for some time, given he had been a regular client before taking on a franchise himself.

Paul worked as a Property/Project Manager with a private school on the outskirts of Melbourne where he employed Gutter-Vac Franchise Owner Kit Aeschliman to clean the school’s gutters.

“After 15 years of meetings, reports, budgets, and virtually running a business within a business for someone else, I thought it was time to do something for myself.’ Paul says. “After looking at various opportunities, I found Gutter-Vac to have the best systems in place and the most potential of any businesses I looked at.”

Paul has since taken on a territory that encompasses the Greater Geelong area together with the coastal towns of the Bellarine Peninsula and Great Ocean Road in Victoria.

He adds “With an ever increasing ageing population and the growing need for both parents to work, the home service industry will sharply rise over the ensuing years, culminating in a steadily increasing customer base.  I believe the potential to build a Gutter-Vac business in an area with such diversity and scope is boundless.”

Peter’s Golden Ticket

There can’t be many (if any) better places to find yourself working outdoors than on Australia’s magnificent Gold Coast.

All the same, for Peter Braund there were a number of factors that influenced his decision to invest in a Gutter-Vac franchise.

‘I thought the business was very reasonably priced, considering the return on investment it provides. What’s more the training is excellent and the support invaluable’ he says.

A former Operations Manager for a national communications company, Peter enjoys the fact he can work flexible hours that suit him, to say nothing of the fact he doesn’t have to commute into Brisbane each day.

With two vehicles, two machines and two employees, we don’t see Peter getting back on the corporate treadmill any time soon.

Adelaide’s Bright Future

Rod Bell had his new career carefully mapped out when he first launched his own Gutter-Vac franchise.

The former futures trader was looking forward to working outdoors and serving his local community in the surrounding areas of the Adelaide CBD and then he woke up one morning to find his machine had been stolen. Rather ironic given he had once worked as a security guard.

Happily the machine and trailer were soon recovered (after being highlighted on Crime Stoppers).

Needless to say, Rod and his three employees have been putting it to good use ever since, while they benefit from the proven systems and processes that have made the Gutter-Vac concept such a great success all over Australia.

Raise a glass to Gutter-Vac

Steve Hambly was first introduced to the Gutter-Vac opportunity by ACT franchise owner Peter Hayne.

“It was over a few beers when I first began to appreciate the independence, flexible working hours and the earning potential of a Gutter-Vac franchise” Steve says.

“There is no stock, no rent and no compulsion to employ anyone. Those were things I didn’t want in a business” he adds.

Formerly resident on the south coast of New South Wales, Steve relocated to Queensland’s Sunshine Coast with his wife and two children.

We reckon it’s the best move he will ever make.

It’s raining cats and dogs in Perth…

Having spent twelve years distributing all manner of pet accessories, Perth resident Thomas Kessel traded in his collars, leads, shampoo and bedding for a Gutter-Vac franchise.

“I found the Gutter-Vac web site when surfing the net looking for some sort of gutter protection for my parents’ property” Thomas said.

“It struck both my partner Sarella and I as a tremendous opportunity. Not just from a business perspective, but something whereby we could really make a difference and contribute to the community overall.”

Both Thomas and Sarella devote themselves full time to the business. And don’t make the mistake of thinking Sarella concentrates solely on the admin aspects of the enterprise, as she is fully qualified to be working at heights herself, to say nothing of the fact she hopes to enlist at least one of her two sons into the business as well.

And now for something completely different…

It was the opportunity to introduce an entirely new service that first attracted Mildura couple Bruce and Sue Liddell to the Gutter-Vac concept.

Bruce was surfing the internet looking for a new business opportunity when he saw an existing Gutter-Vac franchise for sale in Perth.

‘Obviously that didn’t stack up from a geographic perspective’ Bruce quipped, but it did direct the former Broken Hill miner to the Gutter-Vac web site.

‘I thought Gutter-Vac was a unique service and a great idea. More to the point there was nothing like it throughout the whole Sunraysia district.’

Having operated their own convenience store for the past eight years, Bruce and Sue are well versed at working together. Now that they have taken on a Gutter-Vac franchise, Bruce is enacting the practical side of the business while Sue remains responsible for marketing and admin.

It’s an exciting time’ Bruce added, ‘and given we have a territory that stretches from Mildura to my old stamping ground of Broken Hill, there’s plenty to be getting on with!’
