Six years commuting into Sydney to work as a Project Manager in the building industry proved enough one day for Gosford resident Paul Harries. In September 2012 he took a leap of faith and invested in a Gutter-Vac franchise on the New South Wales Central Coast.
‘I was looking for a work/life balance and wanted an active occupation’ Paul says. ‘And I have got to say that Gutter-Vac certainly fits the bill. I really enjoy meeting people, making a difference, being my own boss and working outdoors. What’s more, no two roofs are the same, so the work load varies with different challenges.’
Paul works with one full time employee and his clients include Central Coast Grammar and Green Point Christian College.
I am occasionally surprised to arrive on site to find small trees growing out of some gutters’ he adds. ‘You can check out properties on Google Earth but that sort of detail doesn’t show up.’
