One of our youngest franchisees, Mina Moussa from Gutter-Vac Manningham, recently entered the Manningham Business Excellence Awards.
In his first year of his business, Mina has found that the very progressive and welcoming network of business owners in Manningham have helped him get a great start to his business.
When he was asked to enter the Business Excellence Awards, we suggested he give it a go and it would be a great experience for him. And it was!
The process of filling in the application, thinking about what makes him and his Gutter-Vac business unique and helpful to his clients, really helped Mina understand his business and we saw that his business grew through the process.
Mina made it to the next stage of interviews and we have no doubt that the judges couldn’t help but become excited by the business because Mina is one of the most enthusiastic franchisees we have ever had. Such a likeable guy.
Well, the time came for the awards evening. Mina and his lovely wife Sarah treated it as a date night, leaving their young son at home with babysitters.
No, Mina didn’t win the awards, but he did win a specially made category for just him and another up and coming young business – Judges Encouragement award!
They were so impressed with Mina, they wanted to give him an encouragement award because he was up against businesses that had being going for 20+ years!
To say Mina was excited and of course encouraged, is an understatement!
We often joke at Gutter-Vac that we are a family. The franchisees often say things like ‘What do you think family?’ or they ‘bring things back to the family’. As the franchisor, the head of this family, I was extremely proud of Mina for taking the leap in his 20’s into business, for deciding to join our family and for really being a standout in his community. Such an ambassador to the Gutter-Vac brand.
Congratulations Mina! The family is proud of you!
