How Pressure Cleaning Can Improve The Look Of An Entire Space

With time, a number of external factors like dust, pollution, bacteria, and algae can make your property lose its charm. You may think that you can just hose down the outside of your building to get it clean, but it won’t nearly be enough to thoroughly clean your property.

If your residential, commercial, or business property has lost its sparkle or you want to give your space a facelift without making any drastic changes, pressure cleaning is the solution for you.

What is Pressure Cleaning?

Pressure cleaning is a process that uses high-powered jets for cleaning certain parts of your property. These machines or jets are designed to emit high levels of water pressure that allow better and more targeted cleaning of specific areas.

Here are some common areas where pressure cleaning is used:

  • Roofs
  • Driveways
  • Backyards
  • Decks
  • Patios
  • Gutters
  • Fencing
  • Outdoor Furniture

How Pressure Cleaning Can Improve The Look of Your Space

Getting your property pressure cleaned will not only help get rid of all the accumulated dirt and grime but the clean exterior will also help enhance the curb appeal of homes.

Enhances the Overall Appeal of Property

Pressure cleaning gets rid of years of accumulated dirt and dust that may have made your property look old and dull. The basic task of cleaning the exteriors of your property can make your space look good as new, renewing its lustre. For example, pressure cleaning your home’s driveway or patio furniture can make your property look drastically more attractive.

Increases Home Value

Several reports have shown that spotlessly clean and well-maintained homes have a significantly higher market value. A stain-free driveway, spotless sidewalk, mildew, and mould-free exteriors are all appealing features that buyers look for when considering purchasing a house.

Provides Health Safety and Preventive Maintenance

If dirt, algae, mildew, and other bacteria are allowed to remain on your property for too long, they can pose a significant threat to the health and safety of your family. Pressure cleaning can help get rid of mould, bacteria, and other harmful germs.

Apart from the health concerns, mould and grime can also cause major structural damage over time. So, pressure cleaning is a great way to keep your home well-maintained, helping you save on future repairs.

An added benefit of pressure cleaning is that you will also be keeping your environment safe. Conventional cleaning methods use heavy chemicals that can damage the environment. However, with pressure cleaning, you only employ water at high velocity. It is thus regarded as a safer and more effective cleaning method.

It is crucial that you get your property pressure cleaned on a regular basis to prevent dirt build-up. And our professional team at Gutter-Vac is well-equipped to provide you with an efficient pressure cleaning service. We offer pressure cleaning services for residential as well as industrial and commercial properties. Our services include pressure cleaning driveways, roofs, walls, wine vats, as well as soffit areas. Reach out to our team to request a quote today!

Gutter Cleaning For Rust Prevention: Importance and Benefits

Gutters are silent warriors protecting your property. They guide water off the roof away from your property so it does not reach the foundation of your house. This also means your gutters are subjected to extensive wear and tear, making them vulnerable to significant damage.

One such damage to look for is rust or corrosion. Rust can cause a significant problem for the effectiveness of gutters while also posing a threat to your property.

What Causes Rust in Gutters?

Gutter rust forms when water is not drained properly or water pools inside the gutter. This can be due to improper gutter installation, incorrect slope angle, or a clog that prevents water from flowing freely.

The debris in these clogged gutters turns into destructive sludge that can lead to corrosion and rust.

Rust tends to spread quickly, completely oxidising the metal, and rendering your gutters useless. The gutter system can collapse and will have to be repaired or replaced.

How To Prevent Rust Formation

While gutters are durable, they are still susceptible to eventual deterioration and rust formation. Gutter rust formation can be directly correlated to the amount of debris that’s accumulated in your gutter — the more the amount of debris, the higher the possibility of rust and corrosion.

To prevent rust formation, periodic cleaning of your gutter is of utmost importance. Proper gutter cleaning will remove all debris, thus eliminating all moisture that can facilitate rusting.

Another option is to re-angle or re-install the gutter if the rust is the result of improper gutter installation or incorrect angle. It will ensure that the water drains properly and help minimise clogging that can damage the gutter.

Primers and sealants can also be very helpful in preventing rust formation.

How Gutter Cleaning Can Help Prevent Rust Formation

Let’s take a look at how regular gutter cleaning can help prevent rust formation and even extend the efficiency of your gutters.

Prevents Water Damage

Clogged gutters are a major factor that can cause water leaks and extensive damage including rust formation. When left unchecked for a long time, this accumulated water and debris can corrode the metal of the gutter, resulting in rust. Regular cleaning can prevent this from happening.

Extends the Durability of Gutters

Rust can significantly weaken the strong structure of the gutter and can cause it to collapse. And rust spreads quickly, so it can reduce the lifespan of the metal of the gutter drastically.

With regular gutter cleaning, the gutter will be properly maintained and its durability will be extended by a few years.

Prevents Further Damage and Costly Repairs

When rusting is left unchecked, the gutter eventually corrodes and breaks. This can result in costly repairs or even having to replace the gutter entirely, which can incur huge expenses. Clogged and rusted gutters can also lead to various other problems such as structural damage that will necessitate more repairs and additional costs.

Regular gutter cleaning helps maintain the integrity of the structure, which in turn helps reduce the risk of further damage.

Reduces the Risk of a Damaged Foundation

Water pooling can lead to cracks and damages in the foundation of your property, eventually weakening it. With proper gutter cleaning, including the use of sealants, the gutter’s stability can be maintained. This can help increase the gutter’s drainage ability, thus reducing clogging and the potential risk of rust formation.

While gutter cleaning may seem like a small and insignificant chore, it is crucial for gutter maintenance. Regular cleaning of your gutters makes sure there is no blockage or moisture accumulation, thus helping prevent damage to gutters and other parts of the property. Our skilled team at Gutter-Vac can get your gutters clean and help prevent potential rust formation. How Is Bird Proofing Your Property Helpful?

You may love the sound of birds singing from treetops every morning and evening. You might even welcome little birds visiting your patio.

But, an increasing number of birds visiting your property is never a good sign.

From health hazards caused by their droppings to the unending noise from nesting birds, there are lots of reasons why birds should not be welcome on your property.

And one way to do this is to birdproof your property.

If you’re skeptical about the importance of bird proofing your property, here are some reasons to change your mind.

Reduces Bird Droppings

Bird droppings are not only unsightly but can also frustrate your cleaners and drive visitors away. But, that’s not all. Bird droppings can pile up quickly and cause some major damage to the property like discolouration and permanent stains. Bird droppings are also slippery and can result in a dangerous accident if someone steps on them.

Reduce Property and Equipment Damage

It may be difficult to imagine how birds could damage your property. But if an excessive number of birds are flocking to a part of your property, vehicles, or equipment, you will quickly start seeing the problem.

Even if the birds don’t do any damage, their droppings certainly will. Bird droppings can be a huge dampener to the overall curb appeal of your house. If you’re running a business from your property, the damage to the brand image can be too big to ignore. Getting bird droppings removed is another expense you want to avoid adding to your budget.

Unless you want to spend all your money on repairing parts of your property, it might be time you bird-proof your property.

Reduces Clogged Gutters

Another damage that birds and bird droppings can cause to your property is clogged gutters.

The gutters on your property are meant to carry the rainwater from your roof to the drain. But if bird droppings and bird feathers start accumulating in your gutters, it obstructs the flow of water.

All of these problems can be avoided with one-time bird proofing for your property.

Reduced Health Risk

Not only bird droppings and bird feathers but the birds themselves as well as the critters they carry on their body are all toxic to humans. Pest birds and pest nestings can especially cause deadly diseases in humans by simply being in the vicinity.

With effective bird proofing, you can keep your loved ones safe from potential disease-carrying birds.

Reduces Noise Pollution

Birds are not silent creatures. They love making noises and will often keep at it for hours on end. Their calls also attract other birds and animals nearby. This eventually leads to a higher number of birds visiting and singing around your property.

The constant sound can not only be hard to ignore but also distract you from work or even rest.

The solution to all these problems can be as simple as bird proofing your property with the help of a professional like Gutter-Vac. Check out our locations or request a quote now!

What Is a Gutter Guard and Why Is It Important?

The gutter system is one of the most important aspects that make up your home’s roofing system. It collects and diverts water safely away from your roof, helping preserve your home’s roof structure as well as foundation.

But, gutters also need protection to function optimally for a long time. This is where a gutter guard comes in.

What Is a Gutter Guard?

Gutter guards are a type of screen for the gutters. They prevent debris from falling into the gutters and allow the water that is collected in the gutters to keep flowing smoothly.

The main purpose of gutter guards is to keep the gutters clean and functioning with minimum obstruction. But, gutter guards also perform a tonne of other functions to keep your gutters and your house safe.

If you’ve never considered installing gutter guards, here’s why you should reconsider.

Prevent Structural Damage

Without gutter guards, your gutters will quickly fill up with not just water but also a lot of windswept debris. Twigs, branches, leaves, and more make their way into your gutters and lodge themselves there, restricting the water flow in your gutters.

This accumulated debris and water can then lead to rust and corrosion of your gutters.

With water no longer flowing through the drain, it starts spilling over the edge. The overflowing water may even leak onto your roof and into your walls through the ceiling. From your roof boards to your exterior walls and your basement, no area is safe from water damage.

The result?

Structural damage to your house.

Saves You the Trouble of Gutter Cleaning

You could clean your gutters regularly to prevent water from overflowing, but that’s too much work and it’s never enough.

That’s because debris can accumulate very quickly, so you’d have to go up to the roof every week to clean your gutters.

Gutter cleaning is not only time-consuming but also risky. Not to mention the debris that accumulates even for a day or two quickly becomes an attractive spot for mould to grow — more mess for you to clean.

You’re better off getting a gutter guard and putting all your worries to rest.

Keeps Pests Out of Your Backyard

An unclean gutter is a home to mould and stagnant water. This kind of environment invites rodents and tiny critters. And where the smaller pests go, the big predators follow. That’s what you need to worry more about! If such animals start lurking around your backyard, it not only puts your roof and gutters but also your family at risk.

Prevents Fires

If you’re in an area where bushfires are common, an open gutter is a fire hazard waiting to happen.

Dry leaves or twigs will often accumulate in open gutters, especially during autumn. All it takes is a few flying embers to enter your gutters and the debris will catch fire, spreading rapidly and posing a real threat.

The easiest way to reduce this risk is to keep the debris from entering your gutters.

Saves You Maintenance Costs

Whether it is damaged gutters or damaged walls, open gutters can lead to a lot of repairs. But, with gutter guards, you can save a lot on roofing maintenance and repair expenses you otherwise would have incurred.

Why Cleaning Ceiling Cavities Is Important

Your ceiling cavity is home to many objectionable things, such as dust, dirt, rat faeces, dead insects, bird droppings, ash from bushfires, and even old builders’ rubble.

Left as it is, the debris will mix and decompose, becoming a ticking bomb of awful smells and messes that are impossible to clean. A dirty ceiling cavity is an open invitation for a range of health hazards that will affect all occupants.

Here are some dangerous risks you face if you don’t clean your ceiling cavity:

Risks to Your Health

One of the biggest problems with decomposing dirt is that the fine particles float into your house through gaps in the ceiling, fittings, and other points of entry. These particles are difficult to detect and become part of the circulating air in your house or workplace.

Once these particles make their way into the lungs, they can lead to serious health issues, especially in those with chronic allergies, asthma, and other respiratory problems. Even if you try to clean indoor air with purifiers, air conditioning filters, and other solutions, the persistent debris in your ceiling will make this a fruitless endeavour.

Risk of Structural Damage

Dirty ceiling cavities also pose severe structural damage. Lofts and ceiling cavities that haven’t been cleaned in a while might be full of soot and decomposing objects.

When allowed to accumulate, they become quite heavy over time, only growing unless cleaned out thoroughly. Add this to a leaky roof, and it’s only a matter of time before the entire structure deteriorates.

Risk of Infestation

One of the worst things that could happen in a dirty and damp ceiling is a pest infestation. The conditions inside a ceiling cavity filled with decomposing debris are perfect for birds, rodents, insects, and other pests to remain and thrive.

This makes for many more troublesome scenarios if left untreated. Infestations are difficult and potentially very expensive to eliminate.

Risk of Mould

Mould is one of the more stubborn results of a dirty ceiling cavity. It is impossible and dangerous to get rid of on your own, and mould remediation services can be costly.

You should clean your ceiling long before you spot any mould growth. If it’s too late, you must call in professionals for your household’s safety.

It is vital to get your ceiling cavity professionally cleaned to avoid these risks. Cleaning involves removing the debris and then sanitising the cavity and roof. If you’re thinking of doing all of this yourself, let us stop you there.

You will face many health hazards if you don’t use the proper tools for cleaning. Furthermore, roof insulation requires a professional team to remove and clean. And lastly, the step-by-step process is trickier for someone with no experience.

Our team at Gutter-Vac is fully equipped and trained in dealing with dirty ceiling cavities. If you have an insulated roof, we’ll carefully remove the old insulation and replace it after deep cleaning the cavity. We guarantee you a spotless ceiling cavity that you will never have to worry about.

5 Signs You Have Clogged Gutters

One of the most persistent issues that homeowners face is clogged gutters. If you live in a windy area with lots of tree coverage, there’s no avoiding natural and man-made debris travelling from nearby.

From twigs and leaves to insects and dust, there is little that will not make a home in your gutters, eventually clogging them.

And while a clogged gutter is not a serious problem, it has the potential to grow into a very expensive and hazardous one.

A perennially clogged gutter can cause irreparable damage to fascia boards, penetrate your ceiling cavities, and lead to leakage. Many issues can arise, all of which can put a dent in your savings.

There’s only one solution: cleaning out gutters as diligently as possible.

But how do you identify a clogged gutter? Read on for five easy ways to do so!

  1. Water Spilling Over

A clean gutter will drain water from the roof to the ground with no issues or interruptions. Clogged gutters are perfectly natural; all sorts of debris make their way there and disrupt their primary function.

The first and most apparent sign of a clogged gutter is when water spills down the sides when it rains. This could turn into expensive issues such as basement floods, leaking ceilings, and damaged landscaping if ignored.

  1. Growing Moss

If your gutters are clogged with twigs, leaves, and other greenery, it will not take too much time for moss, algae, and other plants to grow there. Eventually, you’ll find a small garden in your gutters.

Plant debris must be removed to maintain your gutters’ efficient functions.

  1. Birds and Pests Frequenting Your Rooftop

The debris trapped in your gutters makes for an attractive nesting spot for birds, rodents, and other pests. Even worse, these nesting spots can attract bigger predators to your yard.

All of these together will turn your yard into a dangerous place. Some of these pests may even find their way into your ceiling cavity and cause damage to your interiors.

  1. Staining on Your Exteriors

You may not immediately see water spilling over in your gutters, but you’re less likely to miss the black streaks it leaves behind. This is due to the combination of water and roof adhesive overflowing and then drying up.

A professional gutter cleaner can quickly remove these stains after cleaning your gutter to restore the beauty of your exteriors.

  1. Sagging Gutters

If your gutters have accumulated debris, the extra weight will lead to significant sagging. This poses a threat to the people moving around your yard since the gutter’s structure can break down at any point.

It could also damage your yard or the exterior of your house.

If you’ve spotted any of these signs, it’s time to clean your gutters. And this is a job best left to the experts.

At Gutter-Vac, our servicemen are professionally trained and come vetted with years of experience. You need not worry about damage to your gutters or exteriors as we take care of your gutters.

With our service, you can rest easy knowing your home and your family are protected from the risks of a clogged gutter. Request a quote today!

10 Important Things To Consider Before Hiring A Gutter Cleaning Service

Calling the first gutter cleaning service you came across has probably landed you in trouble more than once. If you’re done appointing random providers for the task, we can help you find the right one.

Consider these 10 factors before you hire a gutter cleaning service, and you’ll never go for the wrong provider again.

  1. Do They Have Enough Experience?

Hiring a new company with 2 to 3 years of experience is not a risk to take when your gutter is involved. This is a job for someone who has been working in the industry for a decade or more.

The same applies to the professionals working under these cleaning services providers.

  1. What Work Do They Specialize In?

A company that only works to clean gutters might be of little help and the quality of their work may be questionable. In contrast, a cleaning service that works with manholes, flooded basements, chimneys, and stormwater sumps is more reliable.

Besides, you won’t have to hire a different company for each service and end up paying a higher fee too.

  1. Do They Come With Insurance?

You may think you’re immune to any injury or damage if you hire a professional gutter cleaning service. Yet, that’s not the case.

You must also ensure the gutter cleaning experts you hire carry insurances for public and product liability. Public liability insurance will cover any physical injury or damage to property during the cleaning while product liability will cover damage and injury from the products used and supplied.

  1. What Guarantee Do They Provide?

You may not understand much about the service even when the cleaning provider is ready to explain their work to you. That’s one reason why looking at a guarantee might prove to be helpful—it will tell you what to expect from your service.

  1. What Is Their Customer Service Like?

The best cleaning providers will offer to explain their services and packages in detail. It helps the customers understand the work they should expect once they’ve hired the company.

  1. Where Are They Located?

A cleaning company that’s located far away might offer their services in your region, but the transport charges will be high. Why not go for a provider located nearest to you instead?

  1. What Do the Reviews Say About Their Services?

If the cleaning provider is located in the same region, then it is quite likely they’ve worked with your neighboring community.

Talk to the locals and try to see if anyone has positive reviews about the gutter cleaning service provider you’re considering.

If you can’t find anything conclusive, try online reviews or business listings.

  1. What Are Their Prices?

Most gutter cleaning companies will offer you a free quote on request. Use this service to get a rough estimate of the best deals. However, ensure you don’t fall for the cheapest deal, as these companies are often no good.

  1. What Methods And Tools Do They Use?

Most cleaning service providers work with industry-standard methods, but some use their own tools. While it isn’t possible to research how tools work, you should check if they comply with industry standards at least.

  1. What Safety Precautions Do They Take?

The cleaning service must work in compliance with the state and national safety standards. The professionals working with them must also be aware and informed about the dangers of working with gutters.

Gutter-Vac covers these and more factors in our services. Above all of this, we also provide customers with a free gutter report and evaluation outlining a preventive maintenance plan.

7 Essential Tools Used by Gutter Cleaning Professionals

After a long term of indecision, you’ve finally put down gutter cleaning on your weekend calendar. Now, you must also prepare for the job at hand.

One way to go about it?

By arming yourself with the right tools!

Here are 7 tools our professionals recommend—must-haves in every gutter cleaner’s toolkit.

  1. A Pair of Gloves

If there’s one tool every professional and amateur gutter cleaner must use, it’s protective gloves. No matter what task or tool you’re taking on, you should always wear a pair of gloves. They will keep your hands safe from the sharp edges of the gutters and clean from the debris in them.

You can choose a standard pair of rubber or nitrile gloves or any work gloves you find. Make sure not to pick something too flimsy that branches and twigs can tear easily.

  1. A Multipurpose Gutter Cleaner

Going for a gutter scoop that only scoops dirt? Why not buy a gutter cleaner that has a scoop and a brush in one?

A gutter cleaner is a handy tool (literally) to scoop out or scrub all kinds of debris from the gutters.

We suggest you go for a plastic one to avoid scratching your gutter base accidentally.

  1. A Garden Hose

A garden hose is the best professional spraying tool. It can be used to loosen up the debris that’s stuck inside the gutter and also clear smaller particles.

Another reason we love this tool is, it can work with a range of nozzles and attachments to give you more functionality.

  1. A Sturdy Ladder

A good gutter cleaning job is one done well and safely. You can ensure both with a sturdy ladder as your support.

If you’re unsure what kind of ladder is best, go for a four-legged one. They are safe and give you a good balance.

Make sure to also check if the shelves on the ladder will support a bucket of debris.

  1. A Cleaning Wand

You may not realize it until you’re already cleaning your gutters, but a scoop isn’t very versatile. It doesn’t reach many areas that need to be cleaned.

Cleaning wands help you reach such places. With nozzles that rotate 360 degrees, they are designed to extend anywhere between 3 and 18 feet from your garden hose.

Make sure you buy a cleaning wand of the appropriate extension for your house.

  1. A Bucket

It takes little mismanagement to turn a gutter cleaning job into a yard cleaning task. You can avoid the latter easily by bringing a bucket to your job.

Bring a large enough bucket that will hold all the debris from your gutters.

  1. A Gutter Vacuum

A wet-dry vacuum might be one of the best investments you’d be making for your home.

It helps vacuum everything from your gutters once you’ve loosened up the debris. But that’s not the only benefit. A gutter vacuum also reduces the need for you to carry a bucket or clean up your yard afterward. It stores all the dirt neatly and out of your way in its large-capacity tank.

Wrapping Up

All said and done, cleaning your gutter by yourself is much harder than it sounds. If you’re not feeling up to the task, it is better to leave it to the professionals at Gutter-Vac.Visit our contact page to get started with a quote or book a service.

How to Estimate Gutter Cleaning Prices? A Complete Guide

Are you also skipping cleaning your gutters because of the high fee your local cleaning company charges?

You don’t need to anymore!

If you don’t know why you always end up paying so much for a simple gutter cleaning service, then let us break down all of the expenses.

What Is Included in a Gutter Cleaning Service?

Your gutter cleaning professionals’ first task involves cleaning your gutters and getting rid of anything that may be clogging them. They must take proper care to remove the waste safely or risk damage to the gutters.

Their next task is to flush the gutters and downpipes and make sure they are fully operational.

You may also opt for a few minor fixes for a small addition to the total price of your gutter cleaning.

You can get a thorough evaluation report for your gutters like what we provide at Gutter-Vac.

How Are Gutter Cleaning Costs Calculated?

Cost Per Service

Costs can depend on the services you’re getting. Here are a few examples:

  • Bird nest removal
  • Downspout installation
  • Gutter cleaning
  • Gutter guard installation
  • Gutter repair
  • Valley or pergola roof cleaning

Cost Per Storey

The gutter cleaning cost can also be calculated based on the number of storeys in your home or the overall height of the house.

Cost Per Feet

Many cleaning companies will calculate the cost of a gutter cleaning service based on the linear feet of gutters. This can be useful if you need to get only a part of your gutters cleaned.

Cost Per Linear Foot and Storey

Another pricing method used in calculating the charges is based on the square footage and the number of storeys.

Additional Services

Additional services could crop up in case your gutters need special cleaning or extra work on the part of the technician.

If you’ve got landscaping or gutter screens, then your technician might charge you a higher fee than usual. This is due to the added work involved in safely navigating the landscaping or removing the gutter screens.

Other reasons for a price hike may be:

  • A house with a complex layout or those built on steep slopes that make access to gutters difficult
  • The technician has to travel a long distance to reach your location
  • Seasonal price hike due to high demand for gutter cleaning services
  • High-quality equipment
  • Irregularly sized gutters
  • Severely clogged or damaged gutters
  • Seamless metal gutters

Now, we understand why you might be thinking of hiring the first advertised gutter cleaner you see online. But take a minute and think carefully. Do you want a sketchy company or inexperienced person to work on your gutter?

Many amateur gutter cleaning professionals bait customers with cheap prices and attractive offers. But would you risk the expense of a damaged gutter?

If the thought scares you, then you’re right to feel that way.

And that’s exactly why you should be hiring a professional company like Gutter-Vac.

Gutter-Vac offers the best gutter cleaning services at very low prices. We have what you need, from commercial gutter cleaning to installation and repairing.

How to Easily and Safely Clean Your Gutters With a Pressure Washer?

Cleaning your gutters at least once every season may save you the cost of getting a professional for the same task.

But how can you do it safely and with minimal effort?

Well, there is an easy way to clean your gutters yourself — by pressure washing them!

If you’ve never used a pressure washer on gutters before, then don’t worry. Follow our steps, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time!

Gathering the Tools Needed

  • Pressure washer
  • Sturdy ladder or extension (you can also use a handheld pressure washer gutter cleaner/gutter wand/telescoping wand instead)
  • Bucket
  • Gutter scoop/scraper/trowel
  • Waterproof gloves
  • Safety glasses
  • Detergent
  • Garden hose
  • Gutter sealant

To avoid making a mess on the ground or damaging your landscaping, lay out a sheet to catch debris. Also, remove any furniture or objects stored near your cleaning area or under the gutters.

Cleaning the Debris

  • Wear your gloves and safety glasses
  • Get a gutter scoop and bucket
  • Set up a ladder

Before you start cleaning the insides of your gutters, make sure to remove the biggest pieces of debris clogging it up. Do not spray clean this debris by forcing it through the downspout, as it may damage your gutter system.

Begin by removing the solid debris and putting them in the bucket. Once this is done, you can move on to the next step.

Rinsing the Gutters

It’s best to use a low-pressure nozzle (1200 to 1500 pounds PSI) to loosen any stubborn debris and apply the detergent.

Be careful when using the washer on your gutters, as the high pressure can easily damage the more vulnerable parts of your roof, such as the fascia or soffits.

  • Get on the ladder or prepare the pressure washer gutter wand to get started
  • Start by spraying water all over the gutters. Use a low-pressure nozzle for the initial rinse
  • Use water to rinse the outsides and insides of the gutters, starting from the end opposite the downspout. Note: This is a good time to check for leaks in the gutters or clogging in the downpipes.
  • Fill up the gutters to watch for any water leakages
  • Flush water down the downspout to check for clogs
  • Dilute your detergent solution and put the mixture in the detergent tank
  • Turn the detergent tank on
  • Apply the detergent to all the parts of the gutters
  • Allow the detergent to soak for a few minutes
  • Switch to a high-pressure nozzle and switch off the detergent tank
  • Wash off the detergent and dirt in the same direction you rinsed previously
  • Use a low-pressure nozzle to remove any remaining detergent from nearby foliage

When Should You Clean Your Gutters?

The best time to clean your gutters is during a dry, sunny day during the summer months. It is also a good idea to prepare your gutter system before the winter snow begins to fall.

Do you live in an area with lots of trees in the neighborhood? Then you might also want to consider cleaning the gutters before and after the autumn onslaught of dry vegetation.

Cleaning gutters is not an easy task. It might also be highly dangerous for those without experience or professional training.

You will also have to buy all the tools needed for a cleaning job, which can get quite expensive. Not to mention the expense of fixing leakages with sealants. Then you’re also tasked with storing these tools.

Why take the risk and spend on equipment when you can hire a professional from Gutter-Vac for an affordable price? Our technicians come well equipped with high-quality tools, training, and professional experience.
